Learn more about the multimedia features of PetchCMS, such as embedded videos, lightbox popups and more, to get the most out of your mutlimedia and website.
Lastly, you can add lightbox style popups to your content descriptions using the Word-style WYSIWYG editor, located in your Content Manager. Simply click on the 'Popup' button and add a video URL or local video file, choose the dimensions and save.
PetchCMS uses a lightbox popup system that allows you to embed nearly anything inside a cool-looking inline (non-annoying) popup, simply by adding a URL (website address). This means Youtube videos, Google maps, Flash Games, or just your favourite website (other than your own!).
To add popups, maybe an MSN map, you should start by clicking the 'popup' button in your WYSIWYG editor, shown when adding or editing your content in your Content Manager.
After clicking the 'popup' button (which looks like a TV) you should enter the URL of the webpage or map (or whatever) that you want to show. Enter the dimensions, click 'Submit', and save your content.
Lightboxes work for nearly anything you want to show - mp3s, videos, webpages, games, maps and more. However, if you want to embed stuff into your page with no popup, here's some alternative ways of adding scripts and adding embedded videos.
You can easily add Javascript, DHTML scripts, embedded multimedia, E-Junkie Buttons and other online tools using the WYSIWYG editor in the Content Manager.
Simply click on the 'Edit HTML' button and paste your script or embed code into your content description, wherever you want it (usually at the end). Et viola!
The File Manager, in the PetchCMS Admin Panel, is where you manage your websites' files and also where you can use the built in Plugin Manager to edit and create new plugins.
Manage images, multimedia files (such as video, audio and flash) and downloads like zip, pdf and doc files seperately - add new files, preview files or delete them.
To access the files available in your site in your files, either in your WYSIWYG editor or elsewhere, simply use the paths "/img/", "/multimedia/" and "/download/" followed by the filename of the file you want to include.
