Here are some very useful tips and tricks that can help speed up the process of building various kinds of websites, setting up your PetchCMS for different purposes.
You can create blog-style pages using a few little tricks in your PetchCMS Admin Panel, when creating or editing your pages.
The first thing is to make sure that you have setup up a review system that allows users to add reviews to your content. Next, in the Page Manager, your choose the 'blog' layout type and then order your content by 'date', 'descending'.
Then you need to set 'Max Content' to something like 50 - then you can have 50 posts on the page before it is 'paginated', or split onto different pages.
Make sure you enable the navigation menu on your page to enable easy website-browsing. Lastly, when adding content to this page in the Content Manager, make sure you tick 'Show Reviews' and add relevant, comma-seperated keywords in the 'Tags' area before saving.
Your page will then display all content blocks newest to oldest, showing dates added, with reviews enabled for each 'post', and tags shown as links, enabling users to browse all related 'posts'.
By Default, PetchCMS enables a very flexible, RSS-enabled review system - users can review your pages as a whole or any post, image or block of content on your page.
PetchCMS uses a specific page to add reviews to specific blocks of content on your pages. This can be setup how you like in the Site Manager, in the PetchCMS Admin Panel.
Watch a quick video to see how to customise the review system for your content and pages, and how to display the reviews on your pages and even in your content.
Creating an FAQ page is really easy. When creating your page in the Page Manager, simply select the layout 'faq.php' and any other options you like, then save your page.
The next step, as always with a new page, is to add some content to it. Each time you add a content block, in the content Manager, use the 'Title' field to add the question and use the 'Description' field to add the answer.
When you've added all the questions and answers that you need, view your new FAQ page, and you'll see that the questions are listed at the top, linking to the relevant answers at the bottom.
Please note: Pages using the 'faq.php' layout module, do not show plugins or forms, only content titles and descriptions.
